Baseball Recap: Sonora Comes Up Short

Sonora lost against Ripon back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Sonora fell just short of Ripon by a score of 2-1.

Grady Jasmer was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched.

At the plate, Sonora saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tommy Sutton, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Sonora's record is now 2-10. As for Ripon, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Coming up, Ripon will square off against Hughson at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hughson's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Ripon's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Sonora will be paying especially close attention to Ripon's match: after Ripon faces off against Hughson, they'll take on Sonora again at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
