Basketball Game Preview: Temecula Valley Golden Bears vs. Chaparral Pumas

The Temecula Valley Golden Bears will venture away from home to challenge the Chaparral Pumas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Temecula Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests.

Temecula Valley took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They snuck past Vista Murrieta with a 91-86 win.

Meanwhile, Chaparral had just enough and edged Murrieta Mesa out 56-54 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pumas.

Temecula Valley pushed their record up to 10-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 90.3 points per game. As for Chaparral, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Temecula Valley took their win against Chaparral when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 82-58. The rematch might be a little tougher for Temecula Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
