Volleyball Recap: Cimarron Comes Up Short

Cimarron was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Clayton Yellowjackets. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Yellowjackets earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Cimarron wouldn't go down easily and took Clayton into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-17, 21-25, 21-25, 15-9.

Cimarron's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Clayton, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cimarron will face off against Coronado at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clayton, they will take on Maxwell at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
