Volleyball Recap: Millry Find Success

Millry posted their closest win since October 3, 2024 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the East Central Hornets 2-1.

Millry found their leader in freshman Sawyar Brown, who had 21 assists and two aces. Those 21 assists set a new season-high mark for Brown.

Millry's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for East Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-16 record this season.

Millry didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Mary G. Montgomery on the 13th. As for East Central, they will venture away from home to square off against Purvis at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tornadoes will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight.
