Softball Recap: Doddridge County Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Doddridge County had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Ritchie County on Saturday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 10-4 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won 14 matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Tessa Mayle tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched.

At the plate, Doddridge County got a massive performance out of Brooke Dehaven, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Hadley Ross, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Doddridge County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ritchie County only posted a batting average of .222.

The win (which was Doddridge County's third in a row) raised their record to 27-6. As for Ritchie County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-7.

As of now, neither Doddridge County nor the Rebels have any future games scheduled.
