Union County suffers fifth straight loss on the road

Recap: Union County Yellowjackets vs. Spartanburg Vikings

The Union County Yellowjackets were the 47-44 winner over the Spartanburg Vikings when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Union County was dealt a 64-31 loss at the hands of Spartanburg on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Union County has scored all season.

Keishawn Gibson was Union County's leading scorer, having posted ten points. Seven Eison held things down on the boards with four rebounds. He took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Union County bumped their record down to 5-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Spartanburg, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union County will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Clinton at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Clinton is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Spartanburg won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Northwestern at 7:45 p.m. on January 4th. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
