Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Sami Emerick and Aliyah Marks Lead Maple Mountain to Victory

Maple Mountain picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Durango Demons.

Maple Mountain was led to victory by Aliyah Marks and Sami Emerick. Marks had 18 digs and three assists, while Emerick had seven digs and three aces. Marks is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

They weren't the only good server: Maple Mountain was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durango only served four aces.

Despite the loss, Durango still got an impressive performance from Mia Carozza, who had 15 digs.

Maple Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Durango, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Maple Mountain has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Riverton on the 26th. As for Durango, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Bayfield on the 26th.
