Volleyball Game Preview: West Branch Warriors vs. Northern Cambria Colts

The West Branch Warriors will take on the Northern Cambria Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

West Branch took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They put the hurt on Homer-Center with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Warriors have beaten the Wildcats the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wildcats has come to flipping the script.

West Branch's got stronger as the match went on, holding Homer-Center to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-12, 25-6.

Meanwhile, Northern Cambria was able to grind out a solid win over Bishop Carroll on Monday, taking the game 3-1.

Northern Cambria had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-21.

West Branch's victory bumped their record up to 36-3-3. As for Northern Cambria, their win bumped their record up to 15-11-1.

West Branch beat Northern Cambria 3-1 in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Colts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
