Basketball Game Preview: Woodstock Wolverines vs. Sprayberry Yellow Jackets

The Woodstock Wolverines will head out on the road to take on the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Sprayberry will be up against a hot Woodstock squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Woodstock came out on top against Creekview by a score of 62-55 on Friday. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Grizzlies are ranked 244th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Sprayberry hadn't done well against Pope recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Sprayberry strolled past Pope with points to spare, taking the game 65-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellow Jackets.

Sprayberry pushed their record up to 10-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Woodstock, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11.

Woodstock strolled past Sprayberry in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 59-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Woodstock since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
