Softball Preview: Baker Gators vs. Milton Panthers

The Baker Gators will head out to face off against the Milton Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Baker proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Central 8-7.

Abigail Griffin and Emily Whiddon made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Griffin tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits. Meanwhile, Whiddon tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Griffin went 2-for-4 with three RBI, while Whiddon scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. That's the most RBI Griffin has posted since back in February.

The win got Milton back to even at 9-9. As for Baker, their record is now 8-5.
