Basketball Recap: Wildwood Find Success

Wildwood won the last time they faced Schalick, and Brian Cunniff did his part to make sure it happened again. The Wildwood Warriors came out on top against the Schalick Cougars by a score of 68-58 on Monday thanks in part to Cunniff, who went 13 for 24 en route to 38 points and seven boards. He is becoming a predictor of Wildwood's success: when he posts at least 30 points the team is undefeated (and 4-13 when he doesn't).

Nolan Mawhinney was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. Those nine boards gave him a new career-high.

Wildwood's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Schalick, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wildwood will head out to face off against Overbrook at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Schalick, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Woodstown at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
