Football Recap: Centaurus Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home + How To Watch

Centaurus dropped to 5-3 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They lost to the Grand Junction Tigers at home by a 31-14 margin. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 42-22 to the Tigers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Grand Junction, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.3 points over those games.

Grand Junction's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Matthais Martinez-Santana led the charge by rushing for 132 yards and two scores on only 15 carries. That's the most rushing yards Martinez-Santana has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Paxton Webber, who picked up 94 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centaurus will square off against Sand Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Scorpions have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Grand Junction, they will face off against Cheyenne Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Red-Tailed Hawks have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven contests.
