Gross Catholic is 0-10 against Elkhorn since March of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Antlers at 5:00 p.m. Gross Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Gross Catholic is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Elkhorn North, who was ranked 21st at the time (Gross Catholic was ranked 22nd). The Cougars took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves on Monday.

Brayden Dollen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March.

Meanwhile, Elkhorn also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Standing Bear by a score of 13-9. The Antlers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Elliot Beister made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Elkhorn: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Slade Waggoner, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.

Gross Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Elkhorn, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.

Gross Catholic couldn't quite finish off Elkhorn when the teams last played on Friday and fell 7-5. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
