Basketball Recap: Fort Lee Takes a Loss

Fort Lee lost against River Dell back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Fort Lee Bridgemen were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 55-54 to the River Dell Golden Hawks.

Despite the loss, Fort Lee still got an impressive performance from Jacob Greenberg, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Greenberg a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Erlich, who posted ten points.

It was another big night for Pat Sweeny, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 20 points for River Dell. Another player making a difference was Aditya Pandya, who went 5 of 10 en route to 15 points and six rebounds.

Fort Lee suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 4-2. As for River Dell, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Fort Lee will welcome Bergenfield at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fort Lee is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season. As for River Dell, they will head out to face off against Paramus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. River Dell also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 51 points per game.
