Basketball Recap: Tree of Life Christian Comes Up Short

If Tree of Life Christian was feeling good fresh off their 51-18 takedown of Cristo Rey last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tree of Life Christian Trojans came up short against the Mt. Gilead Indians on Saturday, falling 63-42. That makes it the first time this season the Trojans have let down their home crowd.

Faith White had an outrageously good game for Mt. Gilead as she went 9 for 11 on her way to 21 points in addition to six boards and three steals. White continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Pohlkotte, who went 7 of 15 on her way to 20 points.

Tree of Life Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3. As for Mt. Gilead, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-4 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tree of Life Christian will face off against Granville Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mt. Gilead, they will take on Cardington-Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
