Softball Recap: 11 Straight Home Wins for Eau Gallie

Eau Gallie barely beat Harmony the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Commodores put the hurt on the Longhorns with a sharp 13-3 win on Wednesday. The Commodores haven't had any issues with the Longhorns recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Eau Gallie got a massive performance out of Shyla Eppert, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Hannah Leech, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Eppert wasn't the only one making solid contact: Eau Gallie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harmony only managed six hits.

Eau Gallie's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Harmony, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eau Gallie will venture away from home to challenge Viera at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harmony, they will head out to face off against Osceola at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Longhorns' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Kowboys have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
