Recap: Lake Buena Vista Vipers vs. Horizon Hawks
After losing to the Horizon Hawks the last time they met, the Lake Buena Vista Vipers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Lake Buena Vista took down Horizon 66-47 on Friday.
Lake Buena Vista got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Travis Ligene out in front who scored 22 points along with six assists and three steals. Bryan Mwangovya was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds.
Despite the loss, Horizon saw an underclassman step up: Bradley Webb scored 16 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Adonys Christo, who scored 12 points.
Lake Buena Vista's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Horizon, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 8-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Buena Vista will take on Gateway at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Horizon, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Tohopekaliga at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Tohopekaliga is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
