Alayna Lherisse leads Eau Gallie to victory over Bayside

Recap: Eau Gallie Commodores vs. Bayside Bears

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, the Eau Gallie Commodores were happy to have found some success on Monday. They snuck past Bayside with a 46-42 win. That's another feather in the cap for Eau Gallie, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Alayna Lherisse continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Eau Gallie's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Jones, who scored six points along with six steals.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joy Cattan, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Angelina Spence, who scored seven points along with eight steals.

Eau Gallie's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Bayside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.

Eau Gallie will head out on the road to take on St. Cloud at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eau Gallie has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Bayside, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Melbourne Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Bayside is coming into the match with four straight losses at home, so Melbourne Central Catholic is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
