Baseball Recap: Grove City Comes Up Short

Grove City lost against Slippery Rock on April 7th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 4-2.

Grove City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Layne Rider, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Grove City has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Slippery Rock, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grove City will face off against Neshannock at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Slippery Rock, they will challenge Meadville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
