Baseball Game Preview: Kewaunee Storm vs. Bonduel Bears

The Kewaunee Storm will take on the Bonduel Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Bonduel will be up against a hot Kewaunee team: the squad just extended their winning streak to 19. The Storm put the hurt on Sturgeon Bay with a sharp 13-3 victory on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Storm have won by exactly ten runs.

Waylon Delain was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Kewaunee got a massive performance out of Connor Kilgore, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Dane Harrell was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Kewaunee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sturgeon Bay only posted an OBP of .227.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bonduel, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Menominee Nation 17-1 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.

Kewaunee's victory bumped their record up to 19-0. As for Bonduel, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.

Everything went Kewaunee's way against Bonduel when the teams last played back in May of 2021, as Kewaunee made off with a 12-1 victory. Will the Storm repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
