Baseball Game Preview: Maclay Marauders vs. Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors

For the second straight game, Maclay will face off against Trinity Christian Academy. The Marauders will head out on the road to face off against the Conquerors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Maclay's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Trinity Christian Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Maclay heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Monday. They fell just short of Trinity Christian Academy by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Marauders couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Trinity Christian Academy's part, Aaron Watson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up seven Ks. Watson has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Aiden Arnett was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Jordan Martinez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Trinity Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Maclay, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.
