Softball Recap: Canterbury Finds Playoff Glory Versus Northside Christian

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Canterbury had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Northside Christian Mustangs by a score of 5-1. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Kaylah Berta spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Kenzie Tucker was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Ella Misenhelder was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Canterbury hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northside Christian struck out nine times.

Canterbury's record now sits at 7-15. As for Northside Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season.

Canterbury will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Shorecrest Prep at 6:00 p.m. The Crusaders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. Northside Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
