The Paradise Honors Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Bradshaw Mountain Bears at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bradshaw Mountain will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Paradise Honors extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Panthers put the hurt on Goldwater with a sharp 10-3 win.
Kade Ashton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits.
At the plate, Noah Rodriguez was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Andon Baker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Paradise Honors hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in ten consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bradshaw Mountain, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let Coconino get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bears considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Jeremy Reynolds looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Dylan Lockwood was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Williams, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Bradshaw Mountain's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Paradise Honors, their record is now 20-3.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Paradise Honors hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. However, it's not like Bradshaw Mountain struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
