Basketball Game Preview: Gatewood Gators vs. Windsor Academy Knights

Gatewood has gone 9-1 against Windsor Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Gatewood Gators will take on the Windsor Academy Knights at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Gatewood and four for Windsor Academy.

Last Tuesday, Gatewood came up short against Central Fellowship Christian Academy and fell 48-37. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Lancers are ranked 76th).

Despite the defeat, Gatewood got top-tier performance from Riley Roberts, who posted 16 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Those 16 points gave Roberts a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bela Smith, who earned nine points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Windsor Academy played a tough match on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Mount de Sales Academy 59-22. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-7.

Gatewood's record now sits at 9-11. As for Windsor Academy, their record now sits at 5-21.

Gatewood took their victory against Windsor Academy in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 57-36. Will Gatewood repeat their success, or does Windsor Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
