Baseball Recap: Kiefer Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

Kiefer extended their postseason success on Saturday against Tishomingo. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Indians.

Owen Murphy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

In other batting news, Kiefer got a big performance out of Daxton Smith, who went 2-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Landon Easton, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Kiefer has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Tishomingo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.

Kiefer has already played their next matchup, a 1-0 defeat against Beggs on the 3rd. Tishomingo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
