Basketball Recap: Jones Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Jones can now relate to. They fell just short of the Deltona Wolves by a score of 60-58 on Monday. The Fightin' Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured seven defeats in a row.

Xavier Cerrud continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Deltona, going 7 for 16 on his way to 20 points and six steals. Those six steals gave Cerrud a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tim Mccarthy, who posted nine points and six boards.

Jones' loss dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Deltona, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-16.

Jones does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Deltona, they will venture away from home to take on New Smyrna Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Deltona is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.3 points per game this season.
