Volleyball Recap: Snow Canyon Warriors vs. Desert Hills Thunder

Snow Canyon lost against Desert Hills back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Snow Canyon came up short against Desert Hills, falling 3-0.

While Snow Canyon ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-20, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Nathan Harris and Titus Umi, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from John Linden and his 13 assists. Matthew Sierra Velasquez controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Desert Hills can attribute much of their success to Kai James, who had ten digs and five aces. Those five aces gave James a new career-high. Graham Wintle also deserves some recognition as he had his first dig of the season.

Snow Canyon now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Desert Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Snow Canyon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Hurricane on the 25th. As for Desert Hills, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Pine View on the 25th.
