Foothill is 9-1 against Red Bluff since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars will face off against the Spartans at 3:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Foothill turned things around against Roseburg last Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Indians 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since March 6th.

Sophia Axtell was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of TatiAnna Seuasoukseng, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Foothill hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Red Bluff sidestepped Lassen for a 3-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Camryn Dykee, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

Red Bluff now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Foothill, their record now sits at 5-7.

Everything went Foothill's way against Red Bluff when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Foothill made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
