Phoenix hadn't done well against Sutherlin recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Pirates came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 26-14. This was payback for the Pirates, who suffered a 42-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Phoenix to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cody Martin, who picked up 42 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 42 yards.

Despite the loss, Sutherlin still got an impressive performance from Eden Cardoza, who rushed for 98 yards and one touchdown. The Bulldogs also got a significant boost from Elijah Manasco, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 94 yards.

Phoenix's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Sutherlin, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
