Soccer Game Preview: Rancho Mirage vs. La Quinta

Rancho Mirage and La Quinta are an even 4-4-2 against one another since January of 2020, but likely not for long. The Rancho Mirage Rattlers will be playing at home against the La Quinta Blackhawks at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

On Monday, Rancho Mirage needed a bit of extra time to put away Palm Desert. They had just enough and edged the Aztecs out 4-3. Given the Rattlers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Aztecs are ranked 509th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, La Quinta kept a clean sheet against Palm Springs on Monday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Indians 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Blackhawks were the better team in the second half.

Rancho Mirage has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those ten games. As for La Quinta, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7-2.
