Heritage came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Creek Wood Red Hawks by a score of 3-0. For the Mountaineers, this counts as revenge for the 9-4 win the Red Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2018.

Katelyn Russell made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Russell wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Portlyn Bennett, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

Heritage's record now sits at 28-8. As for Creek Wood, their loss dropped their record down to 29-14.

Heritage will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Red Hawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Wednesday.
