Vallivue is 9-1 against Columbia since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Falcons will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Vallivue has three straight victories, Columbia has 32 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Vallivue faced off against Skyview on Wednesday. The Falcons skirted past the Hawks 5-4. That's two games straight that the Falcons have won by just one run.

Maris Farner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Vallivue's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Kassotis, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another was Abbie Egglston, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Columbia came up short against Caldwell on Thursday, falling 26-2.

Vallivue pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Columbia, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Everything went Vallivue's way against Columbia in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Vallivue made off with a 19-3 victory. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
