Basketball Recap: D.H. Conley Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Khaliq Boston and Cayden Hill

D.H. Conley lost against J.H. Rose back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The D.H. Conley Vikings fell 81-72 to the J.H. Rose Rampants. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 391st, while the Rampants are ranked 54th).

Despite the defeat, D.H. Conley had strong showings from Cayden Hill, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds, and Khaliq Boston, who went 7 of 15 en route to 18 points and six assists. Samari Cabell was another key player, putting up nine points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: D.H. Conley was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

This is the second loss in a row for D.H. Conley and nudges their season record down to 5-13. As for J.H. Rose, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home.

D.H. Conley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 77-44 loss against South Central on the 5th. As for J.H. Rose, they will welcome New Bern at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in J.H. Rose's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 16 contests.
