Softball Recap: Andress Eagles vs. Chapin Huskies
Andress was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 11-2 walloping at the hands of the Chapin Huskies. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Andress of the 16-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.
Andress saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arishay Hernandez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
On Chapin's side, they got a massive performance out of Fatima Hernandez, who went 1-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Yaretzi Acosta, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Andress' loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Chapin, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-9.
Andress will be playing at home against El Paso at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Andress and El Paso are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Chapin, they will head out on the road to challenge Jefferson at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Chapin is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
