Baseball Game Preview: Zeeland West Dux vs. North Muskegon Norsemen

The Zeeland West Dux will square off against the North Muskegon Norsemen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Zeeland West managed to slip by West Ottawa the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Zeeland West lost 14-2 to West Ottawa on Thursday.

Meanwhile, North Muskegon had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 6-2 win over Mona Shores. The Norsemen haven't had any issues with the Sailors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Kylan Nielsen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Carter Mieler was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bronson Hurst, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Zeeland West skirted past North Muskegon 3-2 when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Does Zeeland West have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Muskegon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
