Softball Recap: Wheaton North Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Wheaton North won against Schaumburg last Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Wheaton North didn't even let the West Chicago Wildcats on the board, marking Wheaton North's second-straight 10-0 shutout. For the Falcons, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Wheaton North got a massive performance out of Makayla Grantz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Reagan Crosthwaite was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Grantz wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Wheaton North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Wheaton North's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. As for West Chicago, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wheaton North will take on Glenbard West at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for West Chicago, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on St. Charles North at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
