Volleyball Recap: St. Francis Borgia Takes a Loss

After flying high against Union on Monday, St. Francis Borgia came back down to earth. The Knights took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Pius X Lancers on Wednesday. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Lancers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-23, 20-25, 25-15.

Leading St. Pius X to victory were Harper Gass and Sadie Archer. Gass had 22 digs and one assist, while Archer had 11 digs. Those 22 digs gave Gass a new career-high.

St. Francis Borgia's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-12-2. As for St. Pius X, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

St. Francis Borgia will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Fatima at 6:00 p.m. As for St. Pius X, they will be taking part in a tournament against Howell Central at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
