Soccer Game Preview: Bishop Rosecrans vs. Hiland

Bishop Rosecrans hasn't had much luck against Hiland recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bishops will take on the Hawks at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Bishop Rosecrans took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Shenandoah a 5-0 shutout. Considering Bishop Rosecrans' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

They hit Shenandoah with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from JT Robinson (2), Carson Staunton, Ethan Sandlund, and Isayah Sealey.

Meanwhile, Hiland hasn't lost a match since September 4th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over Caldwell. The result was nothing new for Hiland, who have now won ten matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Hiland is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those ten matches. As for Bishop Rosecrans, their win bumped their record up to 5-11-1.

Bishop Rosecrans suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Hiland in their previous meeting back in October of 2023. Can the Bishops avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
