Softball Recap: Sylvania Comes Up Short

Sylvania came into this matchup off a tough six-run loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Valley Head Tigers by a score of 11-9 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rams have suffered since April 1st.

Sadie Oliver and Jada Hutchison did some serious damage despite the final result: Oliver scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Hutchison went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Morgan, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Sylvania's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Valley Head, they moved to 7-17-2 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sylvania will square off against Coosa Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Valley Head, they will take on Collinsville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
