Hahnville has gone a perfect 10-0 against Destrehan recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Hahnville Tigers take on Destrehan Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Hahnville will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Hahnville's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Central Lafourche as Hahnville made off with a 14-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Hahnville got a great performance from Emersen Tregre as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Addison Walton was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Brazzi Jacob was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Hahnville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Destrehan earned a 7-2 victory over Bourgeois on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.
Jolie Lozano was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Burkett, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Gracie Bourgeois also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Destrehan pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Hahnville, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-3.
Destrehan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hahnville has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Destrehan, though, as they've been averaging 9.7 hits. Given Hahnville's sizable advantage in that area, Destrehan will need to find a way to close that gap.
Hahnville took their win against Destrehan in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 15-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hahnville since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
