Softball Recap: Sandwich Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

While Sandwich's win against Rockland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Blue Knights came out on top against the Bulldogs on Monday by a score of 1-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-0 back in April.

The result came thanks to Sophie Farrington's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sandwich saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Capri Barber, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Sandwich's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Rockland, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Coincidentally, Sandwich and Rockland will both be playing East Bridgewater the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will host the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Blue Knights will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
