Baseball Recap: Holliday's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Holliday dropped their record down to 12-9-2 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Jacksboro Tigers by a score of 2-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

As for Jacksboro, they pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.

For Jacksboro's part, not much got past Cannon Valenzuela, who gave up just three hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Holliday off the board. Valenzuela has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jacksboro secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Kase Dennis, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That's the most hits Dennis has posted since back in February.

Holliday does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jacksboro, they are taking a road trip to take on Millsap at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
