Softball Recap: Ray Ray Jays vs. Divide County Maroons        
        
		
            Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Ray). They blew past the Divide County Maroons 20-4 on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Ray Jays needed considering they were shut out in their previous   matchup.
 Brinlee Cancade made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  struck out eight batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than one  hit any time she's  pitched this season. She was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  Autumn Bloms and  Nevaeh Polglaze did most of the damage at the plate:  Bloms  went a perfect 4-for-4 with three  runs, four  RBI,  and one  double, while  Polglaze  went 1-for-3 with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Brooklyn Edwards, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
 Ray  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .595. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.

Ray pushed their record up to 5-1 with the  victory, which was their sixth straight  on the road dating back to last season. The  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 18.8 runs this season. As for Divide County,  they are  on  a  seven-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ray will take on Williston at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Coyotes will roll in looking for their  12th straight  victory, something the Ray Jays surely won't give up without a fight. As for Divide County, they will face off against Stanley at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. The Blue Jays have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.5  runs per game on average), something the Maroons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
