Baseball Game Preview: Seaford Vikings vs. Wantagh Warriors

For the second straight game, Seaford will face off against Wantagh. The Vikings will face off against the Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Seaford's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Wantagh's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Seaford heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Thursday. They fell 6-1 to Wantagh. The Vikings were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Warriors' pitchers proved too tough.

For Wantagh's part, Christian Danzilo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Wantagh's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Frank McNally, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits McNally has posted since back in April. Another was Tom Wunderlich, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Wantagh has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Seaford, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2.
