Volleyball Recap: Pine Forest Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Pine Forest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Union Pines Vikings. The Trojans were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Pine Forest was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-13, 25-23.

Taylor Route paced Pine Forest's offense, picking up five kills. Route got some help from Aria Parish and her 12 assists.

Union Pines had a senior duo take command as Madelyn Perkins had 19 assists and seven digs and Allie Bauer had 15 assists and three digs. Bauer has been hot, having posted 12 or more assists the last five times she's played.

Pine Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Union Pines, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Pine Forest is headed away from home for the first time to take on South Johnston at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Union Pines, they will face off against Uwharrie Charter Academy at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
