Baseball Recap: Cactus Shadows' Undefeated Season over After 15 Games

If Cactus Shadows was feeling good fresh off their 10-4 takedown of Arcadia last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Cactus Shadows fell just short of Arcadia by a score of 7-6 on Thursday. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Titans earlier this season, when they won 10-4.

Cactus Shadows got a good showing from Jeremy Larson, who struck out six batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore, Larson didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Cactus Shadows saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Hanish, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cactus Shadows fell to 13-1-1. As for Arcadia, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cactus Shadows will square off against Saguaro at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Arcadia, they will face off against St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Arcadia's pitchers better be ready for this one: St. Mary's has averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
