Volleyball Recap: Callie Lacheney Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Rhea County

Sale Creek lost to Rhea County back in August, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Golden Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-15, 31-29.

Sale Creek's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Callie Lacheney, who had 15 digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Lacheney a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chelsea Levi, who had 12 digs, five kills, and four aces.

When it comes to explaining why Rhea County lost, don't look at Kamryn Swafford. Despite the final result, she had 13 assists and 12 digs. Another player making a difference was Ella Kelley, who had 12 digs and four assists.

Sale Creek's record now sits at 18-7. As for Rhea County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
