Baseball Recap: South Walton Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

South Walton got themselves on the board against Cottondale on Friday, but Cottondale never followed suit. They were the clear victor by an 11-0 margin over the Cottondale Hornets. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Seahawks.

Jace Cunningham and Jackson Perkins did most of the damage at the plate: Cunningham scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Perkins scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Cunningham a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Cameron Tipton-Thomas, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

South Walton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cottondale only posted an OBP of .067.

South Walton pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Walton will head out to challenge Bozeman at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cottondale, they will take on Chipley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
