Baseball Game Preview: Western Christian Pioneers vs. Colton Vikings

For the second straight game, Western Christian will face off against Colton. The Pioneers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. Western Christian is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Western Christian lost 11-1 to Colton on Wednesday.

For Colton's part, Carson Weinberger was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Weinberger a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jamison Mcgill Mcgill was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Avery Schroeder was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Colton's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7. As for Western Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.
