Flag Football Game Preview: Albertville Aggies vs. Oxford Yellow Jackets

The Albertville Aggies will venture away from home to face off against the Oxford Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Albertville's defense has only allowed 8.1 points per game this season, so Oxford's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Albertville's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Pinson Valley 22-0. The Aggies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Albertville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Henley Kilpatrick, who threw for 119 yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Kilpatrick a new career-high in rushing yards (18). Ella Brown was in the mix as well, providing Albertville with two scores.

Albertville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Bethany Strickland led the group effort, picking up four of those interceptions all by herself. Diamond Perez has been hot recently, having also posted at least one defended passe the last three times she's played.

Meanwhile, Oxford earned a 19-6 victory over Huffman last Wednesday.

Albertville's record now sits at 8-2. As for Oxford, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Albertville came up short against Oxford when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 18-14. Can the Aggies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
